Coverage and Limits Offered



The HPIA offers four basic policies, a Dwelling policy, a Homeowner’s policy, a Renter’s policy and a Unit-owner’s policy. Policy limits range from $50,000 to $350,000. YOU SHOULD CAREFULLY READ ALL POLICY FORMS TO DETERMINE ACTUAL COVERAGE.

Dwelling Policy

Dwelling Property 2 Broad Form (DP0002 0788)

Perils Insured Against
The perils for which coverage is provided are fire, lightning, windstorm, hail, explosion, riot, civil commotion, aircraft, vehicles, smoke, vandalism or malicious mischief, damage by burglars, damage from falling objects, weight of ice, snow or sleet, accidental discharge or overflow of water or steam, sudden and accidental tearing apart, cracking, burning or bulging of a heating, air conditioning, fire sprinkler system or appliance for heating water, freezing, sudden and accidental damage from artificially generated electrical current and volcanic eruption.

Coverages
Dwelling: Pays for damage to your house and to structures attached to your house. This includes damage to fixtures, such as plumbing, electrical wiring, heating and permanently installed air-conditioning systems.
Other Structures: Pays for damage to fences, tool sheds, freestanding garages, guest cottages and other structures not attached to your house.
Personal Property: Reimburses you for the value of your possessions, including furniture, electronics, appliances and clothing, damaged or lost even when they aren’t on your property.
Fair Rental Value: Pays for the rental value of your damaged rental property.
Additional Living Expense: Pays some of your additional living expenses while your home is being repaired.

Homeowner’s policy

Homeowners 2 Broad Form (HO 0002 0491)

Perils Insured Against
